Slideboard instead of Sideboard
“Neue Räume”, an international interior design exhibition celebrated its tenth edition in Zurich at the end of 2019.
Among the many designers who enrich daily living with their astounding solutions is IGN, which stood out with their solid wood furniture: “We transformed the sideboard into the slideboard,” explains Robert Felderer, an Executive for Technology and Product Development at IGN. Design.AG.
The Slideboard can be used as a design element for the most versatile purposes. The EKU Clipo 16 IS/FS fitting forms the heart of the sliding mechanism, after the company had already experimented with other fittings from Hawa Sliding Solutions.
“The metal front of our Slideboard can glide across the wooden front. The thin body, just 3 or 5 millimeters for the bluish-rolled metal or painted aluminum, respectively, hangs on an invisible track. It can be moved along with ease using your thumb, without any jolting at all – up to this soft stopper,” Felderer explains enthusiastically.
For almost 100 years, Swiss company Müller Sempach AG has been producing timeless furniture pieces for home living and office – and for 10 years under the IGN product line.
